Club Scholarships
Every spring the North Texas Georgia Tech Club awards scholarships to local high school seniors attending Georgia Tech. Students apply through the GT Alumni Association and participate in interviews locally. Information regarding the 2011 scholarship application process will be published January 2011.
2010 Club Scholarship Recipient - Keith Heacock
One of this year’s scholarship recipients, Keith Heacock, on why he chose Georgia Tech:
“Originally, I considered Georgia Tech to be just another state school with an engineering program, but when I saw Georgia Tech ranked as the number four engineering school in the country, I was astounded and intrigued. Upon further searching, I found that Georgia Tech offered not only top-tier academics but also carried an excellent reputation in the engineering community along with a superb research program. After visiting the campus, I knew Georgia Tech was where I wanted to be; not only was the campus beautiful, but the friendly students and faculty created a personable atmosphere, which settled it for me.
So, as an eager student awaiting the start of the rest of my life, I’m very appreciative of the contribution of the North Texas Georgia Tech Alumni Club. Your gift is giving me the opportunity to study at one of the best engineering schools in the country!”
